Freshness & coverage

Timestamps, sampling and stale data

Draft reference · Examples use sample data.

Source timestamps

Timestamps use ISO 8601 UTC. A response received now may contain an older quote: inspect the source timestamp, not just your request time.

Sampled coverage

The proposed feed samples broker quotes approximately every 250ms. Terminal and network delays can increase that interval. Intermediate ticks, crossovers and price extremes may be missed.

Candles are broker history, while quote samples are observations. Neither a successful HTTP response nor a recent receipt proves complete tick coverage.

Stale data

In the explorer, stale quote and candle scenarios return 503 FEED_STALE. The status endpoint remains inspectable and can return 200 with stale: true.

The production freshness threshold is not finalized in this API contract. Do not treat the trading engine’s thresholds as a published API SLA.
